Katie Gibb
Katie Gibb has a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology from the University of Waterloo and a Master
of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. She brings to Agviro, Inc. experience in the agriculture industry
addressing environmental issues specific to crop and livestock production and pertaining to the rural community as a whole.
She also has experience in the energy industry and in landscape design.
Katie provided landscape design services such as landscape rehabilitation plans to rural property owners and garden
design for nursing home residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease prior to joining Agviro, Inc.
She was involved in research and development projects and provided technical support to agricultural producers and staff
on energy efficient systems while at Ontario Hydro. She was project monitor for the Canadian Electrical Authority on several
agricultural projects. She managed the production of and prepared numerous information pieces pertaining to agriculture and
electricity such as Ontario Hydro’s Farm Electric Handbook.
She also has worked in soil and water conservation with the Kettle Creek and Upper Thames Conservation Authorities.
Profile
At Agviro, Katie is involved in research and studies for clients in areas such as product development, indoor air quality, power quality,
energy analysis, alternate fuels, co-generation, historical weather conditions and organic certification.
She has been involved in odour mitigation on livestock operations through landscape design principles, primarily utilizing windbreaks
or shelterbelts.

- Ontario Ministry of Agriculture & Food: wrote several Factsheets including Electricity and Billing, Comparative Heating Fuel Costs, Dairy Lighting, Poultry Lighting, Swine Lighting, Alternative Livestock Watering Devices, How to Handle Seepage from Farm Silos, Handling Runoff from Outside Livestock Areas and Solid Manure Storages.
She is involved in the marketing/promotion, organization, co-ordination and delivery of:
- Training workshops such as the Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness Training Course.
- Marketing materials for Agviro, Inc.
- Hydro One Networks Conservation and Demand Management promotional and technical materials and presentation to the November 2005 Ontario Federation of Agriculture Convention.
