Veldhuis Digital Engineering is a small business that can design solutions for a wide range of
computer and electronic needs. An extensive understanding of electronics enables us to design systems
to measure and monitor such things as temperature, humidity, distance, weight and others. Our
understanding of computer programming allows us to interface these measurement devices to customized
computer programs. The information gathered can be stored in a database and processed into special
reports and graphs. The data can be used to trigger notifications and even alarms. With our
ever-expanding knowledge of the internet, we can post this information to a web site or compose it
into an e-mail that is sent to one or more recipients.
Agviro and Maurice Veldhuis cooperate to analyze unique areas for monitoring and tracking diverse
systems. The most common examples of such are air quality and energy systems.
Enertech Solutions (Dan Dederer, President)

Dan has been a registered professional engineer in Ontario since 1989. Since 1994, he has been
the Principal of Enertech Solutions Inc. where he provides a wide range of technical, quality
assurance and management services to utilities, government and industry. He spent 7 years at
Ontario Hydro as a Senior Advisor in Electrical Energy Services Marketing, where he was
responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing DSM programs for the industrial sector
to achieve specific utility objectives of load retention, economic development and reduced
environmental emissions.
He also spent 3 years as a Commissioning Engineer at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station,
where he was involved in the development of operating policies and procedures, and training
of operating staff.
Agviro and Enertech have worked extensively providing complete energy audits to a wide range of
clients in the Automotive, General Manufacturing, and Food Processing sectors.
Paul Briggs:
Paul Briggs specializes in software development. He has developed a stand-alone software package
to calculate heating loads and size equipment for an international heating equipment manufacturing
firm. The software features a Windows operating environment with a user interface that accepts data
in either Imperial or Metric units, contains an extensive library of standard building loads, climatic
data and equipment specifications. The output can be customized by the user to summarize input
information, to present the results in tabular or graphical form and to test multiple scenarios.
The user has the option of using either bin numbers or degree days in the computations and analyses.
Geomatrix (Jeff Chambers, Vice President and Principal Engineer)

Geomatrix is one of North America’s most respected environmental engineering firms with offices in 17
different locations. Geomatrix has grown to approximately 400 full time staff members and provides a
full range of industrial wastewater and environmental engineering services. Geomatrix’s Canadian
operations are based out of Waterloo, Ontario.
Agviro and Geomatrix have developed an extensive Energy Audit software system consisting of a detailed
modelling and reporting process. The software system has been used for detailed audit reports and to
provide statistical data on energy use patterns, etc.
